who we are
OUR MISSION:
To create fabulous events that celebrate diversity and inclusion.
Having grown from its infancy in Darwin Northern Territory in 2014, PARTY PASSPORT now has a portfolio of parties and events held around Australia and Internationally.
At the core of our business, we create, run and produce events that celebrate diversity and inclusion, with a particular focus on the LGBTQIA+ and Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our aim is to create events that are safe, fun, and fabulous for all people and orchestrate spaces where everyone is free to be themselves.
Hosts Miss Ellaneous & Marzi Panne take events from drab to FABULOUS! Great DJ’s and premium entertainers abound, making the point of difference for all of our events. The team at PARTY PASSPORT have created festival events for Midsumma, Yirramboi, Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Mardi Gras, the Glitter Festival, and fabALICE.
In 2019 & 2020 they produced, programmed, and operated Darwin Pride Festival, which they are still heavily involved in as they launch their new festival, SUGARBAG.
As producers of Miss First Nation, Australia’s only national competition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Drag Performers, they have gained huge success, being documented in its infancy in the film ‘Black Divaz’.
Party Passport acknowledges the Traditional Custodians on whose lands we work and live and, pay respects to their elders & leaders past and present. We believe the resplendent tradition of celebration in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture can enrich the lives of all Australians.
a little about us
Marzi Panne
AKA DANIEL CUNNINGHAM Co-Director, Producer and Performer
Daniel Cunningham found his love of performing in the multicultural tropics of Darwin, his hometown.
A trained theatre practitioner, Daniel graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art and toured nationally with theatre shows, and film and TV roles. Producing events was a natural progression for Daniel, who saw potential in under-represented markets to create fabulous events that celebrate diversity and inclusion.
He has spent extensive time in China and other Asian countries as a producer of stadium-style multicultural events and choreographer for Global Beaty Pageants and the opening ceremony for the Arafura Games. Daniel has practiced his craft throughout Australia, now calling Sydney home.
In 2014, Party Passport Events and Entertainment was born and as co-director, Daniel has produced the acclaimed annual competition Miss First Nation, which was documented in its infancy in the film Black Divas. He has produced Darwin Pride Festival and numerous events for the Rainbow community including the first-ever NT float at Mardi Gras and the weekly event Queer Folx, celebrating Queer culture and performers. His drag character Marzi Panne is Ambassador for the fabALICE Festival and is renowned for her quick wit and comedic shows as World Lip-Sync Champion.
Daniel used the pandemic down-time to complete his master’s degree in marketing at RMIT and looks forward to his next collaboration, SUGARBAG festival, celebrating Queer Arts and Culture.
